Onboarding Process

What to expect after requesting an estimate

Estimate is sent

An estimate is issued outlining the proposed scope of work, projected costs, and deliverables for the corresponding step of development. The estimate itself is non-committal and does not contain the full project terms or establish the working relationship. If the proposed scope and costs look correct, accept the estimate to begin the automated onboarding process.

Services Agreement is sent

Once you accept the estimate, a services agreement is emailed to you outlining the project terms and conditions, confidentiality language, intellectual property terms, and other governing project policies. The agreement must be reviewed, signed, and dated before onboarding can continue, but let us know if you have any questions as you review it. See a sample services agreement here.

Deposit Invoice is sent

Once the signed agreement is received, a second email is issued with the project deposit invoice. The required deposit is 50% of the project total or $500, whichever is greater. Projects under $500 require payment in full before work begins.

Intake Session is scheduled

Once the deposit is received, the onboarding process is complete. You will next receive an email with a link to book your Intake Session. The Intake Session is a 30-minute video call typically scheduled within one week of onboarding completion. During this session, we will review project goals, deliverables, timelines, existing development materials, and any required tasks before active development work begins.

Project Work begins

Most projects begin within one week of the Intake Session and are generally completed within 2 weeks depending on project complexity, revision rounds, sourcing requirements, and approval timing. Project timelines may shift depending on revision rounds, client response timing, sourcing delays, or changes to project scope during development.

Review Session is scheduled

When the project work is complete, I will send a Project Completion email with a link to book your review session, and issue the final invoice. During the session, we will go over the completed work, answer questions, and discuss next steps. If needed, the next estimate is prepared and sent and the process repeats from there until the entire development process is completed and you’re ready to transition to manufacture.
