About Us

Who we are and how we started

Founded in 2020, MADE Apparel Services helps new designers, home-based makerpreneurs, and established businesses bring sewn-product ideas to market with clarity, accuracy, and confidence.

Created by founder Heather Zager, MADE specializes in turning early-stage ideas and evolving product concepts into production-ready sewn goods through a structured, transparent development process. We support all types of soft goods concepts from basic apparel to new and innovative sewn product designs needing R&D exploration. We use professional tools like CLO3D software, Alvanon digital forms, and industry-standard development practices to build concepts with the precision that is required for reliable and consistent manufacturing.

The sewn-products industry is complex, and development missteps can be costly. That’s why our method is both technical and educational. We guide clients through each stage, helping them understand how patterns, virtual samples, sewn prototypes, and tech packs work together to support consistent quality, efficient production, and smooth scaling. Clients gain professional, production-ready deliverables—along with the practical knowledge needed to make informed decisions as they grow. We communicate clearly, keep your vision central, and maintain an organized, predictable process from the first concept conversation through to final approval. Whether you're developing your first product, optimizing a home-studio business workflow, or innovating within an established brand, our approach is strategic and educational from start to finish.

At MADE, we are passionate about what we do we. We collaborate with creators regardless of any type of affiliation or background and are committed to a respectful, inclusive, and judgment-free environment. We firmly believe it’s about the work and mutual respect over anything else. We’d love to hear more about your idea so don’t hesitate to book a 30 minute video consultation - it’s free to explore your ideas with us.

Meet the Staff

Heather Zager, Founder

Owner/Operator Heather Zager found her calling when she signed up for a beginning patternmaking course and realized she had a passion for technical design. She subsequently enrolled in the Apparel Design and Development program at Seattle Central College and graduated two years later with her Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Since graduation, Heather has worked with several high-profile and creative businesses such as Feathered Friends and Classic Accessories. She also spent 2 years working at Meta helping to develop and design augmented and virtual reality wearable tech gear. In 2024, MADE was recognized as Seattle SCORE’s Client of the Quarter.

Heather has also developed and launched her own patent-pending product - Zcissors - a testament to MADE’s hands-on expertise and real-world product development experience.

Fitz, Head of Quality Catrol

Fitz came to MADE in 2022 as a foster from the Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC). He was only 5 weeks old, very small and all alone, but full of spirit. As the weeks passed we noticed how well he got along with the rest of the staff so we named him ‘Fitz’, and adopted him.

Today Fitz spends his days (and nights) checking our work and surprising us with regular unannounced audits. He works hard to ensure all of our work is purr-fect before it gets to you, our customer. If you see a little fur on your completed project, you can rest assured it’s been quality-catrolled personally by Fitz.
